Description
TRIMVET®-1200 Bolus is a broad-spectrum veterinary antibacterial formulation containing Sulphadiazine I.P. and Trimethoprim I.P. in a synergistic combination.
Sulphadiazine, a sulfonamide, inhibits bacterial folic acid synthesis by competitively antagonizing para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), thereby preventing bacterial growth and multiplication. Trimethoprim selectively inhibits dihydrofolate reductase, blocking the conversion of dihydrofolic acid to tetrahydrofolic acid, an essential step in bacterial DNA synthesis. This sequential blockade of folate metabolism produces a potent bactericidal effect against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
TRIMVET®-1200 Bolus is indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract, and urinary tract infections, as well as systemic bacterial infections.
Indications:
- Respiratory Infection (including Acute strangles)
- Gastrointestinal Infection (including bacterial scours and enteric infections)
- Urogenital Infections
- Wound and post-surgical infections
- Mastitis
