Description
VELZE 500 is a controlled-release combination of Sodium Valproate (333 mg) and Valproic Acid (145 mg), providing sustained anticonvulsant and mood-stabilizing effects. It acts by increasing GABA levels through inhibition of its degradation, while also blocking voltage-gated sodium channels and T-type calcium channels, leading to stabilization of neuronal activity and suppression of abnormal electrical discharges.
The controlled-release formulation ensures prolonged action and improved patient compliance with reduced dosing frequency. VELZE 500 is indicated for the management of epilepsy and bipolar disorder.
