Description
TRIT-2 contains Trihexyphenidyl Hydrochloride 2 mg, a centrally acting anticholinergic agent used in the management of Parkinsonism and drug-induced movement disorders. It works by blocking central muscarinic receptors and reducing acetylcholine activity in the brain, thereby restoring the balance between dopamine and acetylcholine. This action helps in improving motor control, reducing tremors, muscle rigidity, and stiffness.
TRIT-2 is indicated for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease as well as drug-induced extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS) caused by antipsychotic medications. It effectively alleviates abnormal movements such as restlessness, involuntary muscle contractions, and postural disturbances, thereby enhancing patient comfort and daily functioning.
Indications:
- Parkinson’s disease
- Drug-induced extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS) (Drug-induced movement disorders)
Therapeutic Segment Positioning:
Anti-Parkinsonian (Neurology)
