OXIMERAM SL 1500

Description

OXIMERAM SL 1500 is a broad-spectrum antibacterial injection containing Meropenem 1000 mg and Sulbactam 500 mg, formulated for the treatment of severe and complicated bacterial infections.

Meropenem, a carbapenem antibiotic, acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), resulting in rapid bactericidal activity. Sulbactam functions as a β-lactamase inhibitor, protecting meropenem from enzymatic degradation and enhancing its efficacy against resistant pathogens. This synergistic combination provides extended coverage against a wide range of Gram-positive, Gram-negative, and anaerobic bacteria, making it suitable for managing serious hospital-acquired and multidrug-resistant infections.

OXIMERAM SL 1500 is indicated for respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, septicemia, meningitis, and other severe systemic infections.
