Cefcel-100 is a film coated tablet containing Cefixime I.P. (equivalent to 100 mg anhydrous Cefixime). Cefixime is an oral third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It is widely prescribed by physicians for bacterial infections that are susceptible to it.
Cefcel-100 is marketed by CECEL, a division of Zee Laboratories Ltd. It is manufactured in India under Mfg. Lic. No. MB/05/116.
Product Description
Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by interfering with bacterial cell wall synthesis, which leads to bacterial cell death. It is used, as directed by a physician, for infections such as:
- Upper and lower respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis)
- Urinary tract infections
- Otitis media (ear infection)
- Uncomplicated gonorrhoea
- Enteric fever and other susceptible bacterial infections
Active ingredient: Cefixime I.P. (100 mg, as anhydrous cefixime)

- Kills bacteria by blocking the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall
