Product Description

AMANIC 500 is a sterile injectable formulation of amikacin sulphate, a potent aminoglycoside antibiotic indicated for the treatment of severe and life-threatening bacterial infections. It exerts a rapid bactericidal action by binding irreversibly to the 30S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria, thereby inhibiting protein synthesis. This interaction causes misreading of mRNA and production of defective proteins, leading to disruption of bacterial cell membrane integrity and ultimately cell death. The drug is highly effective against a broad spectrum of aerobic Gram-negative organisms, including resistant strains.

AMANIC 500 is indicated for the management of serious infections such as lower respiratory tract infections (including pneumonia), complicated urinary tract infections, septicemia, intra-abdominal infections, skin and soft tissue infections (including burns and wounds), bone and joint infections, and post-operative infections. The formulation contains suitable stabilizers and preservatives to maintain product efficacy, safety, and shelf life, making it appropriate for use in hospital and clinical settings under strict medical supervision.
