Description

ZEVID-TZ Bolus is a broad-spectrum veterinary antimicrobial formulation containing Ofloxacin and Tinidazole, specially developed for the effective treatment of gastrointestinal infections in animals. The product delivers dual antimicrobial action against bacteria and protozoal pathogens responsible for diarrhea, dysentery, enteritis, and mixed intestinal infections in animals.

Ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and Topoisomerase IV, thereby blocking DNA replication and leading to rapid bactericidal activity against susceptible organisms. Tinidazole, a nitroimidazole derivative, penetrates anaerobic microbes and protozoa where it forms reactive intermediates that damage microbial DNA and inhibit nucleic acid synthesis, resulting in effective elimination of anaerobic and protozoal infections. This complementary mechanism provides comprehensive control of mixed infections, reduces intestinal inflammation, restores gut health, and promotes faster recovery and improved productivity in animals.
