Description

CYCLOT Ophthalmic Solution containing Cyclopentolate Hydrochloride 1.0% w/v and Phenylephrine Hydrochloride 5.0% w/v, formulated to provide effective mydriasis and cycloplegia for diagnostic and therapeutic ophthalmic use. Cyclopentolate acts as an anticholinergic agent that temporarily paralyzes the ciliary muscle and dilates the pupil, while Phenylephrine, an α₁-adrenergic agonist, produces rapid pupil dilation by stimulating the iris dilator muscle.

This dual-action mechanism ensures rapid onset and adequate duration of pupil dilation, making it suitable for ophthalmic examinations such as fundoscopy and refraction, as well as for achieving cycloplegia for accurate refractive error assessment. It is also indicated in the management of uveitis/iritis to relieve pain.
